As I watched the video of a man who detonated a bomb on himself at the Istanbul airport, I realized either these poor people are being forced to blow themselves up or they are pure cowards. There is no valor in wallowing in your own blood from your own weapon of mass destruction. No glory. No fame. No point. What a total waste. We need to stop the blood-thirst and self-absorbed sadism. We are not afraid. The terror doesn't stop us. Those of us surviving keep on, and you don't teach us anything.
People all around the world search for freedom. Where I come from, the way to spiritual freedom is not through our own self-inflicted martyrdom, but by the blood of Jesus Christ who died at the hand of others and by his own power rose to life. I do not believe all Muslims want to kill for their faith. A person who is worked up to kill himself for freedom is not free though. A free man risks his life to fight battles that will bring rewards in this life and the next. A slave fights battles in which he cannot celebrate his own achievement. So who is the attacker? Name him Islamic terror if you want. Name him Slave-Master because the slaves are those waging the war.
They call us infidels. I call us free fighters. Many of us in the world are free not because of a nation but because of a God and because we believe anyone can worship God without ascribing to a specific religious order. We are fighters not because we want to kill or even fight back but because it is always a struggle to keep the freedom paid for us. Regardless of religious beliefs or national heritage, we in America are not bound to an established religion. Anyone who is here-- you are free to change your faith. You are free to change your church. You are free to worship standing on your head or kneeling on your knees. You are free to be an infidel. You are NOT free to take over someone's life.
Many of us who share freedom will keep being free because it is a place in the mind and spirit, not of materialism or even capitalism. Free people around the world are standing up for the truth, embracing the truth, and we will not be enchained. Our message of freedom has for too long been suppressed in government settings, perpetuating the suffering and buildup of war. We who are free must stop being silent about what makes us free.
Religions of peace do not earn titles of peaceful through silently accepting acts of violence either. So show me what you are. A slave or freeman. A person of love or of timidity. A person of peace or of cowardice. And let us not forget all who died in the attacks on 9-11 to today and from before for centuries, splitting nations and enslaving people around the world. Let not the blood of innocent lives be multiplied day after day because of our tolerance for the Slave-Master that spreads its slavery through taking the lives of its slaves and our freemen.
We must have leaders in Washington who understand the worldwide threat, will work to preserve our Constitution and protect our people, who name our threat and find solutions to keep people ready to defend their freedoms with words and actions.
We need people in Washington who understand and recognize the religious aspects of the war being waged against the world, who have experience meeting that challenge peacefully with truth and love but are not afraid to fight to protect our land and people. I am ready to take up this charge and I sincerely hope you will give this matter serious consideration as you vote this year.
