Author Amanda Lynn Hinson, filed with the Federal Elections Commission Wednesday, January 27, 2016 to declare her candidacy for U.S. House of Representatives in Minnesota’s 7th District.

Hinson has served 14 years volunteering in ministry leadership. She served as a pastor and missionary since 2008 and is ready to expand her public service.

“I realized last year that I can help more people, here and abroad, if I run for Congress,” Hinson said.

In Far East Russia, Hinson lead humanitarian efforts with her husband while learning the cultures, histories and languages of Russia and Asia. Hinson gave birth to their fourth child in Russia and went on to write the book “Wide Open Curtains: A Journal of a Pregnant Woman in Russia”.

“As a trained journalist, it’s important to me to get all the facts, go straight to the source, and be as objective as possible. This mindset is needed in Washington in order to make common-sense decisions on our domestic and foreign policies.”

The Hinson for Congress Committee is now officially registered with the FEC and is taking contributions at: P.O. Box 52, Long Prairie, MN 56347 or here.
